Our island in the virtual world - the vhs Sim
In March 2007 the Volkshochschule of Goslar opened an extension in the virtual world of Second Life. In February 2008 we won the European e-learning award eureleA 2008 for our unconventional ideas in teaching in virtual worlds.The main building of the vhs in the virtual world - the Infotreff - is located at the landing point. The whole island is voice enabled. Therefore you are able to communicate via voice with all people that are not farther away than 60 meters. For this you need a headset. A seperately working microphone is not enough. Without a headset you can also enable voice and just listen via your loudspeakers.
