vhs Goslar
Volkshochschule is the brand name of a national adult education organisation in Germany. In almost every town in Germany there are classes from one of the over 1000 Volkshochschul-institutes. All Volkshochschulen (vhs) are working individually but are cooperating together. In March 2007 the Volkshochschule of Goslar, a small town between Hannover and Göttingen in Lower Saxony / Niedersachsen in the north of Germany, opened an extension in Second Life. In February 2008 we won the European e-learning award eureleA 2008 for our unconventional ideas in teaching in Second Life. Volkshochschule is a governmental organisation. To distribute education to every person in Germany the government finances part of the classes, so that the classes can be offered for very low fees. Volkshochschule has to offer every topic - from political education, health care, professional skills and languages to environmental topics, computers, mathematics and all actual relevant topics. The vhs Goslar is an ecucational institute with about 350 teachers. We offer about 1500 classes a year. You will find our regular offline-programm on the internet: www.vhs-goslar.de |
